Smart Outdoor Event Pavilion - Atherton Residence

Project Accomplishment

Rajeev Madhavan, an entrepreneur who leads multiple startup companies, spends much of his time working from his office located in the poolhouse of his Atherton residence. The outdoor space surrounding the poolhouse was frequently used for meetings, gatherings, and special events. However, changing weather conditions often limited how comfortably the area could be used. Rajeev shared his vision with us, and we proposed a design tailored specifically to his needs. After developing a detailed 3D model, he loved the concept and approved the project. For this installation, we used the SunTent OneLouver | Retractable series, allowing the pergola roof to fully open when desired. The structure was enclosed with motorized roll-up zip screens on the sides, providing protection from sun, wind, and insects. Inside the pergola structure, several integrated accessories were installed, including heaters, custom lighting, fans, mist systems, speakers, and a projector to enhance comfort and functionality. The system is also equipped with wind, rain, and sun sensors, allowing the pergola to automatically respond to changing weather conditions. In addition, the entire setup is connected to a smart control system, enabling the homeowner to manage all functions directly from a mobile device. The final result is a highly functional and elegant outdoor pavilion designed for both professional meetings and private events.
